BCC: EU Pay Transparency Directive: A New Era for Equality?
By Nadia Eatough for BCC Sustainability group, April 17 2025
On 26th March, the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg (BCC) welcomed members and guests to an engaging breakfast panel discussion centred around one of the most ambitious pieces of European employment legislation in recent years: the EU Pay Transparency Directive. The event, hosted by Baker McKenzie Luxembourg and organised by the BCC Sustainability Working Group, brought together experts from legal, corporate, and recruitment fields to explore how transparency can become a catalyst for fairness, equity, and long-term business resilience. Moderated by Nadia Eatough, member of the BCC Sustainability Working Group, the session encouraged an open, thoughtful exchange of perspectives on the practical implications of the directive ahead of its June 2026 implementation deadline.
We asked the Country Head, Andrew Zacharias.

Here in Luxembourg we have been developing a reputation for consistent and high quality delivery of projects over the past few years – in that period we have completed numerous office fit out & refurbishment projects (collectively over 50,000msq) for leading international companies without missing a single deadline and with exceptional customer feedback. As a result of our hard work and dedication to our clients and their projects we now have over 80% repeat business which demonstrates our passion for developing long term relationships. We do not however want to rest on our laurels. We believe we can provide something different to the Luxembourgish market, by leveraging international expertise with our local and European partner network, so our motivation to become a member was because the BCCL provides a platform and actively promotes the coming together of leading local and international companies to collaborate and share knowledge on a wide variety of topics that we can contribute to as well as being able to introduce ourselves to other members who are not yet familiar with ISG Luxembourg.
