On 10 September 2024, the UK Government announced that all visitors to the UK, except British and Irish nationals, will need an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to travel to the UK. From 27 November 2024, non-EU passport holders can apply for an ETA to travel to the UK from 08 January 2025. ETAs will then extend to EU passport holders from 05 March 2025, to travel to the UK from 02 April 2025. This digital visa, similar to the American Esta, will cost £10 (around €12). The ETA will be valid for several trips over a two-year period and will allow people to stay for up to six months on each visit.

In Autumn 2024, non-EU nationals, including UK nationals, visiting the EU will need to create a digital record when entering the EU’s Schengen Zone. This includes providing biometric data (fingerprints and facial image) at the border. UK nationals with rights under the Withdrawal Agreement will be exempt from EES registration if they have the correct documentation.
Festival Events Asbl today announced the launch of the 15th British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg 2024 Autumn Edition: all screenings will be spread over the Cinémathèque, Ciné Utopia and Kinoler – the first time that the festival is going outside the capital city. While the core festival dates are from 16 – 21 September, we are having various other screenings, both before and after these dates in a comprehensive programme.
