SEI has an established global business across both asset management and asset servicing. We've been established in Luxembourg for over 11 years and since joining SEI, my main focus is to grow our fund services and technology business in Europe and specifically, Luxembourg. As a member of the British Chamber, we want to meet, support and educate member organisations on industry trends, technologies and processes that will help them build connections that could lead to more confident decision-making in the future.
The objectives of the British Chamber of Commerce for Luxembourg are to follow and influence developments in the economic and business world in Luxembourg affecting members’ interests, and so contribute to making Luxembourg an attractive place to do business. The Tax and Legal groups of the BCC address key issues in their sectors to corporate and individual members through a number of events, and seek to raise awareness and influence decision makers as to the issues of concern to the BCC membership.
The Luxembourg government published Bill of Law no. 8183 (the “Bill”) in late March 2023, amending five asset management-related laws, namely the UCI Law (1), SICAR Law (2), SIF Law (3), RAIF Law (4) and AIFM Law (5). The aim of the proposed amendments is to upgrade the current Luxembourg legal framework and develop new structuring solutions to facilitate retail investors' access to alternative asset classes, in light of market trends in recent years.
