Festival Events Asbl today announced the launch of the 15th British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg 2024 Autumn Edition: all screenings will be spread over the Cinémathèque, Ciné Utopia and Kinoler – the first time that the festival is going outside the capital city. While the core festival dates are from 16 – 21 September, they are having various other screenings, both before and after these dates in a comprehensive programme.
The film festival provides a unique opportunity for viewers to experience a wide selection of new films from Britain and Ireland. The 2024 AUTUMN EDITION includes 17 feature-length films from a cross-section of genres and representing mainly independent cinema. In addition, they will be screening a number of short films and launching the second edition of the Young Filmmaker Competition.
The British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg (BIFFL) 2024 AUTUMN EDITION will have “The Teacher” as its official Opening Screening, a drama set in Palestine, and will close with “Froggie”, an Irish-language comedy-drama. All films will be receiving their Luxembourg premiers during the festival, apart from “The Banshees of Inisherin” (2022) which is a Special Screening by the Cinémathèque.
