The Luxembourg Film Festival 2024 edition will take place from 29 February – 10 March 2024. HOARD by Luna Carmoon, a visionary debut feature film set in 1980s London, Maria and her mother spend evenings on the street in search of trash, collecting tinfoil, chalk, and food scraps to add to the piles of other found treasures crowding their home. Their lives are messy yet magical, but an accident soon separates the two. Flash forward to 1994: Maria is now an energetic and awkward teenager under the care of a kindly foster mother when Michael, himself a former foster child, comes to visit. FEMME, a thriller by Sam H. Freeman and Ping NG Chong. By night, Jules transforms herself into a drag queen and sets London’s stages alight. HOME INVASION by Graeme Arnfield. FIREBRAND by Karim Aïnouz will also be presented during the Festival. This film with Alicia Vikander and Jude Law is set in blood-soaked Tudor England, Katherine Parr, the sixth and last wife of King Henry VIII, is named Regent while tyrant Henry is fighting overseas. LET THE CANARY SING, a musical documentary by Alison Ellwood with Cyndi Lauper. Alongside lively archival footage and interviews, this portrait traces the meteoric rise of Cyndi Lauper. LOVE LIES BLEEDING by Rose Glass will be our official closing film. Lou runs a gym where she meets Jackie, an ambitious bodybuilder who travels across town to Las Vegas in pursuit of her dream.
